I didn't really know what exactly was needed to work. I had a succesfull installation of EVE Online before using winetricks by just slapping on Dotnet, MSVC, corefonts (3 usual suspects) and DirectX9, set win10 and videomem=2048 for high settings justified by hunches.ĮVE recommends w10, dx9.0c, 256M video. Winetricks>default prefix>change setting>win10Īdding more games and packages in the default wineprefix using winetricks The (ignorable) 1st error was corrected by changing settings to win10: This fixed the 2nd error while the 1st error persisted, Launcher OK, Log In is now OK, client OK in high settings Winetricks>default prefix>install fonts>corefonts Just to get the client running, first I went for the 2nd error: QtWebEngineProcess.exe The 2nd error can not be ignored and can be corrected using winetricks. Upon clicking the Launcher, 'Already have an account, Log in' the 2nd error appeared: program error QtWebEngineProcess.exe needs to close > open Launcher again > click to log in again > QtWebEngine.exe error persists
Later the 1st error turned out to be ignorable, but can be corrected using winetricks. Launcher installs, continues and starts downloading, luckily didn't click or interact with the launcher! Waited for downloading and unpacking to complete. Winetricks>default prefix>WinDLL/component>d9vk(latest) bonus better graphics for meįirst time opening the LauncherInstaller gives 1st error: error KB3118401-圆4.msu > retry? ignore? cancel? > retry, again same error and choice options.> ignore No errors, installed, logged in, client OK, ratting and technically done. Run explorer from winetricks navigate to My Computer C:\users\username\Downloads and open EveLauncher*.exe Started winetricks and selected the default wineprefix (everytime) Fresh OS, fresh wine install everything fresh, don't touch wine or winecfg before winetricks!ĭownloaded EveLauncherInstaller to ~/Downloads in OpenSUSE Leap 15.2 OS using a webbrowser
